The Twelve Signs

Each year belongs to one of twelve animals in a repeating cycle — find yours below

About the Twelve Signs

The twelve animals of the Japanese Zodiac — 干支 (eto) — form a repeating cycle that governs each year in sequence: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Boar. The cycle then begins again. Your animal sign is determined simply by your birth year.

Each animal carries a distinct set of personality traits, compatibility patterns, and life themes. But the animal alone is only the first layer: pair it with your element (determined by the last digit of your birth year), your Yin or Yang polarity, and your Animal Time for a complete reading.
